Pizza Chicken

Being that the Hubs and I love Pizza, I am shocked that it was not until a week ago that we had this wonderful dish, Pizza Chicken. Once you try it, you too will wonder why you waited so long.  If you have been eating this for years I am beyond jealous of you and wish you had shared the recipe sooner!!  We were perusing the Internet in search of a new chicken recipe when we came across Pizza Chicken.  It is so easy and yummy, and everyone in the house can make theirs however they like.  This is also a good low carb option for those who like to stay away from the carbs.

Ingredients:
A Chicken breast or 2(if you eat like my hubs) per person- I always slice my chicken breast to make them thinner
Pizza Sauce
Mozzarella Cheese
Pizza Seasoning
Whatever Pizza Toppings you enjoy
-Our Pizza Chickens have Turkey Pepperonis, Raw Green Peppers, and Olives

I started by seasoning the chicken with the pizza seasoning and then pan frying the chicken breast in olive oil.
Once thoroughly cooked place chicken in a pan that is safe for the oven.  I coated mine with foil for easy cleanup.
Cover each chicken with pizza sauce and then the toppings of your choosing, then top off with Mozzarella Cheese.
Place in Oven at 375 for 5-10 mins till cheese is melted.
I heated up extra pizza sauce for dipping, which I highly recommend.
Serve and Enjoy.

*The Hubs wants his chicken Butterflied next time so he is able to get more toppings on

Lucas at 9 Months

Lucas Michael turned 9 months old on Feb 24th.  He thinks he is a big boy just like his older brother.  He believes he can do whatever Kalen does and gets frustrated sometimes when he can't quite do it like his brother.  He absolutely loves his big bro and wants to be around him 24/7.  Kalen usually lets him and they play in Kalen's room a lot while I am cooking dinner.  Hopefully they keep up being BFFs.
Lucas loves drinking out of a big boy sippy cup and even gets a hold of Kalen's Milk cup every now and then.  Clearly he will love when he gets switched over to Whole Milk.  His diet is now completely table food.  He eats whatever we eat and he prefers it that way.  I have tried to feed him pureed food and he wants no part of it.  He is Mister Independent in that he wants to feed himself and needs no ones help.  I swear he eats more than I do some nights,  he actually on a few occasions devoured a whole chicken breast.  I have no idea where this kid stores his food.  Kalen use to eat like this too,  A "See food" diet, he sees it and he eats it.  He still gets the baby puffs since they are a lot better for him than other snacks in the grocery, but he still gets a hold of the yummy snacks since his brother eats them.  His top teeth have finally broken through and we should be able to see those pearly whites shortly!!
The little guy is so vocal, he is always making some kind of noise.  His favorite phrase, which he uses all day long is "da da".  Makes a MaMa a little jealous.  If Lucas is not napping when Dada comes home his whole face lights up when he sees him and crawls right to him to be picked up.

There is no shortage of laughter in our house.  It seems someone is always laughing.  Lucas recently began finding our Dog, Reggie beyond hilarious.  If Reggie sneezes Lucas is in an uncontrollable laughter.  He will just watch Reggie and laugh all day long.  He smiles at everything, if he catches you looking at him he beams a smile back and will smile at complete strangers.  He is going to be such a little people person.  Although sometimes he acts shy and tries to hide his face if you are talking to him.  He just smiles and buries his head into whoever is holding him.
He has now become an expert cruiser around a table, chair, or whatever he can grab a hold of.  He is so close to standing on his own without grabbing something to help him.  He can push off the smallest of objects to help him stand.  He desperately tries to push off his own legs to stand on his own. You can see him trying in two pictures below.

Although this happened today the 26th, I feel it won't be as exciting if I wait till next months post to talk about it.  But the Little Man took his first two steps this morning.  I am a bad mommy and was no prepared at all, so there is no visual evidence.  He has been holding on to the table, letting go and standing for a little bit, and then he tries to move forward but only his upper half goes, so he falls forward.  But this morning I was sitting on the floor and he used my arm to help him stand and he let go and took his two steps and them plopped down.

Lucas eating his first Lemon, his first face was the best he did this one eyed pirate squint (which was not caught on tape)-  He is the complete opposite of his brother in this aspect.  Kalen shoves Lemons in his mouth and does not even flinch and has always done so.  Crazy Boys

Kalen's Despicable Birthday Party

To begin Kalen's Birthday The Hubs and I blew up balloons and decorated his door the night before so when he woke up he would be excited about what was in the hallway.  I originally wanted to fill his room with balloons but did not buy enough so we just filled the hallway in front of his room up.  It would have looked a little strange if I tried to put the balloons in his room.  He loved the decorations and played all morning with the balloons.  He actually moved them into his room and they are still there.

We met a friend and her son at this yummy breakfast/lunch restaurant called Red's and had a yummy breakfast and then enjoyed the rest of the morning at the park.  When Daddy finally got home Kalen got his birthday present from us which was a Power Wheels Mater.  He absolutely Loves it!! To finish off his Birthday we headed to Outback for a nice family dinner.

He opened the door to find Mater

Checking Mater out

And he is off

Enjoying his Birthday Dinner
Saturday the 18th we had his party and Lots of family and friends came to celebrate!! He had a Despicable Me theme for his party which was a lot of fun.  Minus the fact that there is absolutely nothing out right now for it since the movie came out about a year and a half ago.  If you have never seen it I highly recommend it.  It has a very cute story line and I personally think it hilarious. If you haven't seen it some of the ideas may not make sense to you.  So I did a lot of searching the internet, eBay, and Pinterest (shocking there was nothing on pinterest to help me).  I found an awesome Blog that I borrowed some of her ideas and came up with some of my own to make his party come to life.
My recreation of Minion cupcakes with the help of my SIL.  They turned out perfect!! haha

Kids drinks

Food in a dog bowl (That is how Gru thinks you feed children)

Coconutties- The Cookies the Girls sell

Cotton Candy from Super Silly Funland

Kalen was obsessed with this balloon

Box of Shame- Kalen's forehead and arm.  The box was pretty much destroyed by the end of the party

Opening Gifts

The Cake- I had to purchase the pieces off of eBay and then show a picture of what the cake should look like to Publix and they did it for me!! I just had to place the pieces

Blowing Out his Candle

Minion Bowling

The Moon- The villains are trying to Steal it in the movie

Kalen's Bday Banner I made
The Hubs also made a spaceship from the movie.  When the girls and Gru go to Super Silly Funland they play one of the games to win a Unicorn and they have to shoot a moving Space Ship to win.  So we had a Nerf gun and you could try to knock over the space ship.  I am upset I did not get a picture of it and it also got destroyed from all the fun. For dinner we had Stuffed Crust Pizza!!! Super cute part of the movie!! I had a lot more decorations but didn't get pictures.. Oh Well

I also made Kalen a Balloon wreath to hang on the front door and I was going to make it in his party colors but decided to just do a blue so I can just hang it up on the front door every year during his birthday week.

I did this when he turned one and will continue to do it every year until he is completely embarrassed and won't let me.  But I saw the idea in a Martha Magazine (you know the things we use to get ideas from before Pinterest).  I have since seen this idea all over Pinterest.  But I just print out pictures from the year and put them together to where they create a number.  So this year I made the number 2.  I made two different ones and hung them up.

Kalen's 2nd Birthday

My First Little Mister Kalen turned the Big 2 on Wednesday the 15th. I can hardly believe I have a two year old, that is just crazy talk in my mind. I recently was looking back at pictures it is so crazy to see how much he has changed in the past year. He has gained a few pounds and a few inches. He now weighs 28 pounds and 11 ounces and he is 36 inches tall. Which is quite deceiving because they laid him down so they can get him flat, but when I measured him he is about an inch shorter. Of course when he stands he wont completely straighten out for me. Which stinks because he needs to be 36 inches to ride the bigger boy rides at Universal but I can't get him to stand super tall. I'll just highlight some things and add a few pictures. If you follow our family then you pretty much know what is happening and see the pictures in every post. So I won't go to crazy.

He had his first and only real haircut right after his birthday. I have trimmed it a few times but I cannot bring myself to get it cut again. The Hubs and I love his long hair, even though it sits right in front of his eyes. But he manages to peer through it to see what he needs to.

He knows what he likes and what he doesn't. He has favorite movies, toys, foods, blankets, stuffed animals, and drinks. When given choices he actually picks which one he wants instead of just grabbing one to have one.

He understands pretty much everything we tell him and usually listens. I think the little guy is pretty smart. Sometimes he just decides to be stubborn and do what he wants. I have no idea where he gets his stubborn attitude from. If we ask him to bring us something he can find it and then bring it to us. He understands certain toys are Lucas' and makes sure to bring them to us or give them to Lucas.

He talks now. I think he should be talking a lot more than he does but he does pretty well. He gets out the important stuff and can usually tell us what he wants or is trying to do. He seems to be more interested in talking and is beginning to repeat more of what we say and really tries to repeat us when we ask him to. I know he is a boy and isn't to concerned with talking like girls. He is more concerned with the physical part

He started walking at 10 months and once he got the hang of that he rarely walks anymore. He has to run. He has began jumping, which he thinks is absolutely hilarious. He also likes to skip, climb, kick, throw, push, knock over his brother anything he can, pull. I am pretty sure his climbing skills can rival any professional climber. He recently concerned Mt. Fridge. He is crazy a dare devil. I am pretty sure he will try anything once maybe twice. He always climbs up to the biggest slide on the playground or climbs up whatever he can no matter how tall. Jumping off of things and onto something else is considered a hobby to him.

Kalen has a super sweet side to him. He really loves his brother even though he sometimes doesn't show it. But, every night he must give his brother a good night kiss, which makes Lucas smile every time. Sometimes he walks up to Lucas and just gives him a kiss for no reason. He will bring Lucas toys to play with and says "Here Ucas" as he hands them to him. He gives the hubs and I lots of hugs and Kisses and he now tries to say I Love You, which usually comes out " I uh Jeeeuuu".

The little boy who use to need his mommy to show him how things work is no longer here. Kalen tries to figure everything out on his own. Sometimes we have to show his how something works but that does not happen that often.

All his crazy antics and just his everyday mannerisms crack me up each and everyday. He can usually make everyone laugh even if he isn't trying to although I'm pretty sure he knows what he is doing and is just hamming it up for everyone.

I can't wait to see what the next year brings us
